Stock photos for you

Thu Apr 1, 2004, 5:22 AM
Why:
Ah, I remember those days in college... when you had to do a digital imaging project, sitting and scanning those stock photos out of books, trying your best to enlarge them from those tiny thumbnails, and then never really finding the images you wanted in the first place... I HATED that. Since I normally take a plethora of pictures during any given photoshoot and only end up liking/using about 1/8 of them, I decided that I should offer the extra pictures up as stock to try and aleviate some of the pains that art students and digital artists go through.

Da' Rules:
Take what you like. Use them however you like. The only things I ask of you are: to let me know that you used something, send me a link so I can see it; and to credit me with a link back to this page, so others can pick and choose what they want.

Handy Information:
I'll be the first to admit that some of these images aren't of the best quality; especially the ones I took with my Largan Chameleon MegaDigital cam, which is only 1.2 megapixels. HOWEVER, being artists, we often find ways around this. As you can see, all the images I upload are usually huge, and in turn a little pixellated here and there. That's because these are the raw images right from my camera - no editting, cropping, coloring, filters, or whatnot. It's your job to adjust the colors, the saturation, the cropping, the sizing, etc - until you get something you like. And believe me, it's possible - I got a LOT of beautiful shots out of that little POS camera after some toying around in Photoshop. My usual edits of choice were: the auto-Levels adjustment, sizing the images down to reduce pixellation, and maybe a bit of Hue/Saturation (a +10 saturation on some of those photos makes a BIG difference.) You also might want to try greyscaling the image; sometimes you get some really neat results.

DMK's Work:
If you want to see some of the results of my handywork with these photoshoots, you can visit my actual DA page -

I'll eventually be redoing my personal website [link] to include some of my newer work, since I haven't touched it in over a year... so until then I wouldn't suggest it :P

Ok, we're done! Go play! Create!
